The plain-English version first: we collect only what we need to match you with one installer, we share it only with that installer, we never sell it more widely, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are
Coolhouse (“we”) is operated by James Cooper, St Albans, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: hello@coolhouse.uk.
What we collect, and why
Homeowner enquiries: your name, postcode, phone number, email, the services you’re interested in, your rough timeframe, and whether you own the home. We collect this for one purpose: to match your enquiry with a single vetted local installer so they can contact you about a quote.
Installer applications: company name, contact name, phone, email, trades and coverage areas — used to assess and manage your participation in our installer network.
Technical data: we log basic request information (such as browser user-agent) for security and spam prevention. We do not currently use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site.
Our lawful basis
We process homeowner enquiry data on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the enquiry form. We process installer application data on the basis of taking steps to enter into a contract with you. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us — we’ll stop processing and delete your details.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is shared with exactly one vetted installer per trade — the one matched to your job — so they can contact you about a quote. That is the entire model. We do not sell your details to marketing lists, we do not share your enquiry with multiple competing firms, and we do not pass your data to anyone else except the service providers who host our infrastructure (website hosting and database hosting within the UK/EU where available), who process it only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept while your enquiry is active and for up to 24 months afterwards (so we can honour our re-match promise and quality guarantees), then deleted. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to object to processing. Email hello@coolhouse.uk and we’ll act on it promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This site does not currently set advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes (for example, if we add analytics that require consent), we’ll update this policy and ask first.
