Terms of use
Short version: our matching service is free to homeowners, quotes come from independent installers (not from us), and we work hard on vetting but the contract for any installation is between you and the installer.

What Coolhouse is
Coolhouse (operated by James Cooper, St Albans, Hertfordshire) is an introduction service. We match homeowner enquiries about air conditioning, solar, battery storage, EV charging and related electrical work with one vetted, independent local installer per trade. We do not carry out installations, we do not employ installers, and we are not a party to any contract you enter into with an installer.
The service is free to homeowners
You pay us nothing. Installers pay us a fee for receiving genuine enquiries; this does not increase the price you are quoted.
Quotes and installations
Quotes are provided directly by installers, are their responsibility, and are always no-obligation. Any survey, contract, warranty, workmanship or guarantee relating to an installation is strictly between you and the installer. We encourage you to verify certifications (F-Gas, MCS, electrical qualifications) yourself — reputable installers expect this.
Our vetting, honestly described
Before matching, we check that installers hold the relevant certifications for their trade, carry public liability insurance, and genuinely cover the areas they claim. Vetting reduces risk; it cannot eliminate it, and it is not a guarantee of any particular outcome. If an installer we matched lets you down, tell us — we’ll re-match you and review their place in our network.
Fair use
Please only submit genuine enquiries about your own property. We may decline or discard enquiries that appear fraudulent, duplicate or abusive.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our service is provided “as is”, our role is limited to making introductions, and our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to £100. This does not affect your statutory rights, and it does not limit any rights you have against an installer under your contract with them.
